I Expect You To Fold Mr Bond

Survey reveals the biggest ever gaming wins to grace the silver screen.

We're not giving anything away when we tell you that the nearest the lastest Bond movie Quantum of Solace gets to a poker showdown is - no even that would be telling, so we won't give the game away. Suffice to say, that the fil is action-packed. Ignore the critics - go and see it.

To coincide with the movie's release, www.CircusCasino.com undertook a survey to discover the top 10 biggest gaming-related wins to grace the silver screen. It transpires that Bond's previous run out in Casino Royale witnessed the largest ever poker win on celluloid.
During the film's prolonged poker scene, Daniel Craig cashed for a cool $115 million after landing a straight flush (spades since you ask), while earlier in the movies Bond's arch-enemy, Le Chiffre, collected $17 million after picking up four jacks.

Movie expert Thomas Craig, a lecturer in Film History and theory at The University of Derby, analysed the major gambling movies to reveal the largest-ever wins and the most popular games featured in the movies.

With all the winnings in pre-2000 movies re-calculated to yield an equivalent 2007 value, the top 10 movie gambling wins are as follows (NB: information is ordered according to amount won, character, film, year of release and the type of game):
