Southend casino becomes first in UK to be granted wedding license

Maxims Casino in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, has become the first casino in the country to be granted a wedding license.

The casino, situated along the Western Esplanade in Southend and overlooking the Thames Estuary, will provide an exclusive area for wedding parties and can provide an on-site wedding planner to cater for all the couple's needs.

Brides and grooms to-be can choose from a range of wedding packages starting at £1000 up to £15,000 for the most deluxe option which is the ‘Heart of Hearts' package. This includes everything from Champagne on arrival and a three course wedding breakfast, to flowers, invites and photography, plus accommodation for the couple the night before their big day, and transport to and from the venue.

The Heart of Hearts option is priced at £150.00 per head for up to a maximum of 100 persons. The other four packages are; Diamonds Forever; Perfect Pairs; Casino Royale or the Maxims Club package. (See brochure attached for full details of what each option includes). All packages cater for a minimum of 25 persons and a maximum of 100 persons and includes the room hire costs.*

Alternatively, couples can choose to design their own wedding by building their own package from a list of individually priced options.

Maxims Casino Manager, Jimmy Howard, said; "I am delighted that we are the first casino in the UK to be granted a wedding license. We have a great space here looking out over the Estuary and are happy to try and accommodate whatever the couple want for their big day.

"Because of the size and layout of Maxims, couples can choose to keep their celebration separate from the gaming facilities, or they can embrace them and opt for a full-on Las Vegas style experience."
