The Genting Cup has taken place at 34 Lucozade Powerleague centres across England and Scotland with over 600 teams taking part. The winners and the runners up from each of the local heats progressed to the North or South Area Finals, which took place in Barnet (South) and Trafford (North) on the Sunday 6th May.
Eight teams from the North Area Final together with eight teams from the South Area Final progressed to the National Finals Day at Villa Park (home of Premier League team, Aston Villa) on Thursday 17th May.
The draw to place the 16 teams in the 4 groups for the National Finals Day took place on Tuesday 8th May at Aston Villa’s Training Ground, Bodymoor Heath and posted online (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YXMO7DJc_kc). Genting were pleased to welcome Aston Villa stars, Darren Bent and Richard Dunne to help draw the teams.
On the National Finals Day, we ensured that the teams were treated to the full Premier League experience, arriving in the players’ car park, changing in the first team changing rooms and walking down the tunnel before stepping out on to the historic Villa Park turf.

KIERAN MEGRAN from BIRCH SERVICES came out as the top goal scorer on the day with a total of eight goals, six of which were scored in one match!

DWAYNE PHILLIOS from CLEAN SLATE was voted the days Most Valuable Player with an almost unanimous score of five votes from six games.
The final took place between CLEAN SLATE (from the Watford heats) and ITALINO POWER (from the Trafford heats). After a tense opening exchange, CLEAN SLATE managed to bag the only goal of the game to win the Final one- nil, with an excellent strike from MIKE KEEN, winning himself and his team the once in a life time opportunity of an ultimate trip to Resorts World Sentosa, Singapore.
