Maxims Southend Launch

The £3 million refit of Southend’s biggest casino is now complete and Westcliff Casino on the Western Esplanade officially re-launched as Maxims Casino Southend, with a grand opening party on the evening of Thursday 6th December.

The newly refurbed state-of-the-art casino boasts brand new gaming tables plus the latest developments in electronic gaming. The launch party included a Boney M tribute band, plus performances from the Fire and Ice Theatre Company and close up entertainment from a first class table magician. During the evening, the Mayor of Southend officially opened the casino, predicted to be one of the best in the country.

Guests and members were greeted with a complimentary glass of champagne as they arrived and three lucky people each won a diamond worth £1,000 - definitely not your average opening event!

The launch evening also gave members the first opportunity to see the two new restaurants within the casino, Equations and Terrace II Grill. Equations offers an a la carte menu and is expected to become a premier dining destination. Terrace II Grill offers a less formal environment - both are the perfect recipe for a great night out.

John Harland, marketing manager at Maxims Casino Southend, who compered the launch evening, said:
