Genting UK raises money for The Destitute Animal Shelter

Genting, one of the UK’s leading casino operators, will host a special charity night at Genting Casino Bolton on Saturday, October 7th to raise money for The Destitute Animal Shelter in Bolton.

The night will begin with music and a quiz, with cash prizes of up to £175 up for grabs for the lucky winners, followed by a free buffet. In addition, the casino will host an auction where guests can bid for items including two tickets to watch Queen and Adam Lambert perform at the Genting Arena, together with a stay at Genting Hotel at Resorts World Birmingham. Four tickets to the local cinema, a case of wine, four tickets to a local activity centre, and further prizes will also be up for auction.

The Destitute Animal Shelter Bolton, which has been supported by Genting Casino Bolton for just under a year, is a rescue charity dedicated to caring for lost, abandoned and stray cats and dogs. The shelter relies solely on donations from the general public, local businesses, and organisations such as Genting.

Genting Casino Bolton supports the charity regularly by collecting bedding and food for the shelter and has also hosted other events throughout the year, including the collection of more than 100 tennis balls during this year’s Wimbledon that the animals could play with.

Alan Warwick, marketing advocate at Genting Casino Bolton, said: “We are absolutely delighted to be hosting a charity night for the Destitute Animal Shelter in Bolton – a charity that is close to the hearts of all of our staff.

“Many members of staff here have adopted dogs and cats from the shelter over the years so when it came to selecting the charities which would benefit from the support of Genting Casino Bolton the animal shelter was top of the list.”

Karen Rickards, shelter manager at The Destitute Animal Shelter Bolton, said: “We want to say a big thank you in advance to those who are supporting the many dogs and cats in our care and we wish everybody a wonderful evening.”

Tickets to the Charity Night are priced at £15 per person which includes two free drinks, a buffet and free entry to the quiz. A minimum of £5 from every ticket sale will go directly to The Destitute Animal Shelter Bolton and tickets can be purchased from the Genting Casino Bolton and from the Destitute Animal Centre in Bolton.

Those also wishing to donate items to the auction can do so by contacting the casino on +44 (0)1204 381 811
