Genting UK Plc and Subsidiary Companies’ Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Genting is committed to ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in any part of its business or supply chains. Our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy reflects our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking are not taking place in our supply chains.
Our procurement provider Q9 Partners has a procedure in place relating to anti-slavery and human trafficking. Potential suppliers are subjected to due diligence checks by Q9 and asked to confirm statements relating to anti-slavery and human trafficking.
As part of our initiative to identify and mitigate risk we have conducted a review of our supply chains and identified our major suppliers. For those main suppliers we shall be looking to review our contracts and where appropriate ensure that contracts contain provisions requiring compliance with anti-slavery and human trafficking laws and our Anti-Slavery and Human Trafficking policy.
Each location has an administrator responsible for conducting the relevant right to work checks on employees in accordance with government guidelines. HR Business Partners conduct audits during their visits. Employees who conduct job interviews will be made aware of their obligations in relation to anti-slavery and human trafficking.
To promote understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we provide training to our staff as part of their training on corporate social responsibility.
We have also made the ‘Stronger Together’ anti-slavery and human trafficking forced labour video and advice leaflets available on the Genting Academy website so that this can be accessed and viewed by staff.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes the slavery and human trafficking statement of Genting UK Plc and its subsidiary companies for the financial year ending 31st December 2016. This statement was approved by the board of Genting UK Plc on 15th February 2017.
