Branka, Senior Receptionist, Palm Beach Casino – 8 years at Genting With eight years at Genting, Branka began her journey on the reception desk at Palm Beach Casino, where she quickly built her confidence and skillset. Over time, the opportunities she embraced led her to progress into the role of Senior Receptionist, reflecting both her own dedication and development, as well as the increasing visibility of women in leadership positions across the business.
Why is Genting a good place for females to work?Genting can be a good place for women to work for several reasons: career growth opportunities, attention to customer experience, a wide range of roles, and shift flexibility.
Can you share a moment where you felt supported as a woman at Genting?I have always felt supported at my workplace by both my line manager and the casino management team. A good example is during busy periods, where their guidance and presence create a positive and reassuring working environment.
How have you seen opportunities for women evolve since you joined Genting?Over the years, I have watched more women get promoted into roles like shift manager, head of departments, and even senior positions. It has become normal to see women leading teams. Including myself, as I had the opportunity to be in the role of a Head Receptionist.
What challenges have you faced as a woman in your role, and how did Genting help you overcome them?Every workplace has challenges, but what mattered to me was that I never had to face them alone.
How does Genting promote wellbeing among female employees?Genting promotes wellbeing for female employees by creating a safe, respectful environment, investing in training, and ensuring strong management support. The combination of structure, culture, and opportunities makes it a place where women can grow and feel cared for.
Maria, Hospitality Team Member, Genting Casino Edgbaston – 4 years at Genting With four years at Genting, Maria has built a career shaped by resilience, ambition and the realities of balancing work with life as a single parent. Throughout her journey at Genting, the support and flexibility she has received have enabled her to continue developing in her role, reflecting both her dedication and Genting’s commitment to supporting women in building fulfilling and sustainable careers.
Why is Genting a good place for females to work?Genting offers stability and career growth, which I need as a single parent. It's an environment where I can work towards becoming a specialist while knowing my role as a mother is respected.
Can you share a moment where you felt supported as a woman at Genting?I felt truly supported when I had childcare issues due to my manager helping to resolve the issue. Having a team that understands the ‘mom life’ makes me feel like I truly belong here.
How have you seen opportunities for women evolve since you joined Genting?I’ve noticed that career paths are becoming much more flexible. Genting is opening doors for women to move into specialist roles based on talent and drive, regardless of their responsibilities outside of the workplace.
What challenges have you faced as a woman in your role, and how did Genting help you overcome them?The biggest challenge was balancing work and my child’s schedule. Genting supported me by allowing me to choose shifts that fit my family’s needs.
How does Genting promote wellbeing among female employees?Genting prioritises our peace of mind. If I need an emergency holiday due to family issues, the management is incredibly understanding, plus there is always someone to talk to and share challenges with, which makes me feel supported rather than alone.
Sylvia, Hospitality Manager, Genting Casino Wolverhampton – 10 months at Genting Having joined Genting 10 months ago, Sylvia began her journey at Wolverhampton by stepping into a management role that allowed her to quickly build confidence in her leadership abilities. From the outset, she embraced opportunities to contribute, learn and develop, supported by colleagues who encouraged her growth. This environment has enabled her to discover her strengths, expand her capabilities and grow into a confident and trusted leader within the team.
Why is Genting a good place for females to work?This is a great place for women to work because it genuinely values diverse perspectives and recognises the importance of representation at all levels. There is a strong culture of respect. Women’s voices are heard, contributions are recognised, and there are clear opportunities for growth and progression. The workplace encourages open dialogue, flexibility, and professional development, which makes it an empowering environment to build a career.
Can you share a moment where you felt supported as a woman at Genting?I don’t feel there is one moment, but I do feel in my short time here, my manager and colleagues actively encouraged me by reinforcing their confidence in my abilities, and provided constructive guidance. Their support would give me the confidence to take ownership and trust my skills.
How have you seen opportunities for women evolve since you joined Genting?Since I started, I’ve seen a noticeable increase in opportunities for women to lead projects. I have attended lots of meetings where I feel that women are encouraged to utilise their leadership skills.
What challenges have you faced as a woman in your role, and how did Genting help you overcome them?Like many women, I’ve faced moments of self-doubt and the pressure to consistently prove my capability. However, I feel I am actively listened to, and this in turn has made my confidence grow.
How does Genting promote wellbeing among female employees?The company do provide wellbeing by encouraging work-life balance, and creating spaces for women to feel comfortable and not let them be afraid to express their ideas or concerns. I feel that here at Genting woman are treated equally, valued, supported and respected by all.
Agata, Senior Cashier, London Chinatown Casino – 3 years at Genting With three years at Genting, Agata has built a career shaped by confidence, mentorship and progression. Starting as a Cashier and moving into a Senior Cashier role, she has thrived in an environment where women’s voices and skills are recognised and valued. Her story reflects the supportive, inclusive culture that continues to open doors for women.
Why is Genting a good place for females to work?International Women’s Day is a time to celebrate how far we’ve come, and at Genting. I’m proud to work for a company that doesn’t just talk about inclusion, they live it. For me, Genting is a fantastic place for women because it breaks the 'old school' casino mould. It’s an environment built on mutual respect, safety, and a shared drive for excellence, where the unique perspectives of female team members are seen as a competitive advantage.
Can you share a moment where you felt supported as a woman at Genting?I felt that support firsthand when I was encouraged to move from cashier to senior cashier. The mentorship I received wasn’t just about ticking boxes, it was about building my confidence and helping me grow into a leader.
How have you seen opportunities for women evolve since you joined Genting?Since I joined, I’ve seen a real shift in the landscape. There are more women than ever taking on supervisory roles, leading gaming teams, and making their mark in hospitality and customer service. It’s a testament to how Genting truly invests in female talent.
What challenges have you faced as a woman in your role, and how did Genting help you overcome them?Working in a 24/7 industry definitely has its challenges, but Genting makes it work by fostering a strong team culture and a real sense of belonging. Whether it's the flexibility to swap shifts when life happens or the social side of the job, like our staff events and 'Croupier of the Year' celebrations. There’s a clear message: we aren't just staff, we're a community. It’s that camaraderie and the way we support each other during those busy nights that truly makes the difference.
How does Genting promote wellbeing among female employees?To me, being a woman at Genting means being part of a community that empowers you to show up as your authentic self. Today, we celebrate the resilient, brilliant women I work alongside every day, and I’m excited to see how we continue to redefine the future of gaming together.
